Acknowledging Your Gift

Your gift to the Jack Russell Memorial Library "Your Library...Your Doorway to Discovery!" Capital Campaign will help us raise $2 million toward the cost to fund the new Jack Russell Memorial Library that will be located on two acres of land adjacent to the Hartford Mill Pond, site of the 1914 high school building. We gratefully acknowledge your support, which both reinforces the success of today's campaign and opens possibilities for future projects. In accordance with your wishes and donation amount, we will acknowledge your donation in one of several ways.

1.  Jack Russell Memorial Library acknowledges the generosity of campaign donors in the community at large. The Library names its donors, without listing amounts, in "thank-you" advertisements or postings. The announcement of campaign gifts also encourages others to participate in community efforts by acknowledging generous and widespread support.

2.  The Library awards permanent recognition to donors whose campaign gifts are $500 or more. For more detail, please read the Undesignated Giving section that follows.

3.  Jack Russell Memorial Library invites donors to choose a Designated Giving Opportunity, whether it is a room, area, or some other aspect of the project. If you are interested in such a legacy, please read the section on Designated Giving.

4.  The Library encourages donors to choose an appropriate form of recognition so that we may show our sincere gratitude for campaign contributions. We respect and honor the wishes of those who choose to remain anonymous.

Undesignated Giving

An undesignated campaign gift allows the donor to honor or memorialize a special person. Gifts of $500 or more are acknowledged within our donor recognition system. Donor names are displayed prominently in a central, high-traffic area within the Library in accordance with the following schedule:

            Pace-Setting Gifts                    $25,000+

            Advance Gifts                          $15,000+

            Major Gifts                              $5,000+

            Primary Gifts                           $1,000+

            Community Gifts                     $500+

The recognition system reflects the various giving levels.

 Designated Giving

Legacies and memorials are meaningful symbols of enduring communities. Jack Russell Memorial Library recognizes the importance of leaving such signs of lasting significance for future generations and invites your participation in Designated Giving.

A designated campaign gift allows the donor to dedicate a room or an area for commemoration. Some donors choose to name a room or an area in honor of their grandparents, parents, or a child who has passed on; others choose to honor a person who has influenced their lives; others may choose to honor and recognize a business or industry of significance to the community.

You may choose a designated gift at a value equal to or less than the amount of your gift. Not all rooms have been designated with a gift value, but special arrangements can be made should you wish to name an undesignated area. The assigned value for each designated giving opportunity does not match either the cost of construction or the equipage of any given area. All available designated gift opportunities are advertised and circulated among prospective donors during the campaign.

While some recognition plaques may be included in a specific commemoration area, all contributors are included on a donor recognition wall (unless they request anonymity), in a well-trafficked area within the Library. Donor wishes are followed with regard to the unveiling of memorials and designated commemorative gifts.

Designated giving opportunities are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Prospective donors wishing to discuss specific opportunities are invited to call Diane Hegy or Mike Gelhausen at 262-673-8244.

For complete list of areas still available for designation, please visit our Designated Naming Opportunities section.
